Big Plans: BetMGM Knocking Out 2022 With New Year’s PKO Series

PKO action coming to BetMGM

All events played in a progressive knockout (PKO) format. In a PKO, when a player is knocked out, only part of his bounty goes to his opponent.

The other portion is placed on the winning player’s head.The more a player eliminates other players, the more that player’s own bounty increases in value.

These tournaments make for some unique calls deep in the tournament, when a large bounty is on the line.

The Knockout Series includes seven events with identical buy-ins and tournaments in all three states but guarantees differ.

Buy-ins are available for players of all bankroll sizes and range from $20.23 to $535. If the holidays have left players tight on cash, a $5,000 freeroll is set for Dec. 31.

Highlights from the series

The largest Knockout Series event is a $535 PKO set for Jan. 1.  The event carries a $50,000 guarantee in New Jersey. Pennsylvania, and Michigan will host the same event but with a different guarantee.

Here’s a look at the seven events in the series:

• $50 PKO (Event 1, Dec. 28) – $10,000 guarantee
• $320 PKO (Event 2, Dec. 29) – $20,000 guarantee
• $100 PKO Six-Max (Event 3, Dec. 30) – $10,000 guarantee
• NLHE Freeroll PKO (Event 4, Dec. 31) – $5,000 guarantee
• $20.23 PKO (Event 5, Jan. 1) – $2,023 guarantee
• $535 PKO (Event 6, Jan. 1) – $50,000 guaranteed
• $100 PKO Turbo (Event 7, Jan. 1) – $10,000 Guaranteed

Beginning on Dec. 27, BetMGM will offer tournament qualifiers and satellites for the series.

More PKO tournaments

For players looking for additional PKO options, BetMGM also runs weekly knockout events. During the Knockout Series, the Thursday weekly guaranteed PKO tournament will continue running.
