Bovada Stops Accepting New Players from Two More States

Bovada, the largest U.S.-facing online poker site, has added two more states to its restricted list.  Players in Nevada may no longer create s. Players in these states that attempt to sign up at Bovada will encounter this message:

We are sorry. We do not accept registrations from your state. For more information please us.

The move does not affect existing players with a balance at this time.  Players that already have an and funds on deposit at Bovada in these states may continue to play, however, no new deposits will be accepted.

Delaware and Nevada Maryland, New York on the list of states where players are no longer welcome to make new s or deposit at Bovada.

Bovada stopped accepting players from New Jersey last month.  It appeared that this was in response to the cease-and-desist letters sent to operators and s by New Jersey gaming regulators in an attempt to stop unlicensed competition in the state.  The move to restrict Delaware and Nevada falls along the same lines of leaving regulated iGaming states.

The Equity Poker Network, Winning Poker Network, and Merge Gaming, all left the three regulated U.S. states during 2014.  Unlike Bovada, these three networks also banned existing players, forcing them to immediately withdraw any funds on deposit.
